As proud supporters of the arts in our community, we are honored to sponsor the 2017 Broadway Series at The Players Centre for Performing Arts. The season is beginning with a classic, A Streetcar Named Desire, which will run from September 1- September 11. Directed by Elliot Raines, this Pulitzer Prize winning Tennessee Williams play follows Blanch Dubois as she seeks solace in her sister, Stella, in New Orleans. This dramatic play was made into a movie in 1951 and starred Vivien Leigh as Blanche Dubois (which earned the Actress an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1952), Kim Hunter as Stella Kowalski (which earned her Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 1952 Academy Awards), and Marlon Brando as Stanley Kowalski. This timeless play is sure to move you and we hope to see you there!
