Jaguar- Land Rover Investing in Ride-Sharing. According to a recent article from The Stars, the British automotive manufacturer has taken a firm stake in SPLT, a ride-sharing service focused on businesses. The service is simple, allowing people at large corporations to car pool, whether its offering someone a lift or finding someone who travels in the same direction and has room to offer in their car. The company launched in the US in 2015 and has 100,000 users and is now looking to expand into Central America and Europe.
Sebastian Peck, managing director at InMotion Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s venture capital business spoke about the investment, “SPLT is a perfect fit for our portfolio, and a hugely exciting business that tackles a universal problem. Making the commute more efficient greatly benefits businesses and their employees.”
